A propos de l'auteur: Jonathan I. Israel, Ph.D.(1972), Oxford University, is Professor of Early Modern European History at the Institute for Advanced Study, at Princeton. He has published extensively on Jewish, Dutch, Iberian and Ibero-American, as well as intellectual history.
