Russel Kingston commenced keeping finches in 1956 and has continued to do so since time. While he has kept and bred other birds, his first love has always remained finches. He was co-owner and manager of a large, commercial, bird breeding farm at Caboolture in Queensland, Australia for over six years. Russel served as Chairman of the Board of The Avicultural Federation (A.F.A) from 1989 - 1992. He is a Life Member of The Queens Finch Society Incorporated. His articles on finches are regularly published in national and international publications. Russell has been invited to lecture at several A.F.A International conventions, regional conventions, as' well as numerous avicultural organisation throughout Australia and overseas.
