Marks to these effects on the inside of the front board, otherwise no marks. Leather boards have slight rubbed corners, a tight hinge/tight all through. Bound, contemporary parchment binding (overlapping boards, ties removed), title in contemporary ink on spine, [24]+430pp., 8x13.5cm., engraved frontispice and 3 full-page engravings, in good antiquarian condition (binding with traces of use, slightly soiled). Three dated names of previous owners written in ink on first page and titelpage: 1630, 1636 (Augustinus van Dijck) and 1749.

Etat : Good. Monachii 1622 Ex Formis Nicolai Henrici. Apud Raphaeleum Sadelerum Iconographum Ducalem Venalis. Drexel was Lutheran convert to Catholicism who became a Jesuit in 1598. In Latin. 12mo., (5 x 3 inches; 12.5 x 7.5 cm.), (16), 406pp., (4), title page vignettte, eight full page engravings by Raphael Sadeler, 3/4 leather with marbled boards and raised bands. An epigram, likely by Bidermann, printed beneath each engraving. Bookplate (of Colonel Cooper). All edges gilt. Lacks spine label altho date is printed at heel of spine. Good, inner hinges reinforced, cover rubbed. Plates are nicely detailed and all VG or better in condition.
