Lydgate; short story Smoke: Life and death in a Chinese hut by Robert Payne; Let the Bomb Drop by Adam Bookmaker [pseudonym] ("When the forts of folly fall," says this indignant author, "you'll find my body by the wall"); Atomic Science - Wrapped up in just six titles by Albert Einstein; Juke-Box Existentialists by John L. Brown ("The new Bohemians of Paris read Hemingway, dance to swing music, and believe in nothing"); Ben Shahn by James Thrall Soby (with three art works in color); How to Starve a Greek Town by Robert St. John ("Full warehouses and empty stomachs: symbols of the tragedy of Greece"); Said a Man From Mokil by Mokil-Na-Potak as told to Walter Karig; Vincent Sheean in Search of Man by Edmond Taylor ("Marx, Rome, Freud, and alcohol have been suggested as cures for his unfulfilled greatness"); short story The Scoundrel with the Dandelions by Edward McSorley; Two Poems by Stephen Spender ("On the Third Day" and "O Night, O Trembling Night"). Condition: outer covers poor - detached from body of magazine but present; these same front and rear outer covers were previously detached but connected by two pieces of tape by former owner and show moderate cover, edge and corner wear, corner-chipped; the inside body of pages are in very good condition (the non-glossy pages are lightly age-browned as per paper stock used).
