The academic study of religion recently has turned to the investigation of emotion as a crucial aspect of religious life. John Corrigan is the Edwin Scott Gaustad Professor of Religion, Professor of History, and Religion Department Chair at Florida State University. He is the author of Business of the Heart: Religion and Emotion in the Nineteenth Century and editor of Religion and Emotion: Approaches and Interpretations
