Peter James was born in Brighton, Sussex. He was educated at Charterhouse and then Ravensbourne Film School. Peter spends his time between his homes in London and Brighton. His previous country home, a former Georgian manor house built on the site of ancient Roman ruins, was said to be haunted by four ghosts. Peter's books, which have been translated into 30 languages, have received acclaim from both readers and critics worldwide. He has won many international awards for his work, including Best Crime Writer of the Year 2005 for Dead Simple, and was shortlisted for The Crime Thriller of the Year at the 2007 Richard and Judy Galaxy British Book Awards for Looking Good Dead. Alongside his writing, Peter James is also a successful television and film writer and producer. In his spare time Peter collects classic cars, motor races and is a highly proficient skier.
