Joanne C Hillhouse is an exciting new writer from Antigua. She writes poetry as well as fiction, and had her first piece published while she was still at school. Since then her work has appeared in publications both in Antigua and internationally, but the finely crafted Boy from Willow Bend, with its faithful recreation of island life and the challenges of adolescence, is her first book. A journalist by profession, specializing in environmental education in the print, broadcast and internet media. Joanne has written a screenplay for Boy from Willow Bend, and a second novel, Dancing Nude in the Moonlight.
