This predates the UK edition published in hard covers by Jonathan Cape in 1973. Browning to the lettering on the spine which has a little edge rubbing. Slight surface chip to the bottom right corner of the front cover. The back cover has a light one inch crease to the top left corner, a small surface mark above the title and light surface creasing to the top right corner. The covers are otherwise clean and unmarked. Page edges a little darkened. Brown spotting around the edges of the insides of the covers. Previous owner's name in pen with a date at the top of the first page which also has a trace of a price in pencil. The pages are a little browned with a tiny closed tear to the edge of one but are otherwise unmarked. Cover art by Richard Powers. First printing. N° de réf. du vendeur 019457
