From the Inside Flap :

With the ban on trading single stock futures (SSF) lifted, this innovative new financial product has the potential to transform the landscape of securities trading in the United States. Many within the financial community agree that this hybrid of the equity and futures worlds will become the most important derivative introduced since the equity option. Although single stock futures may be a relatively new phenomenon in the United States, this instrument has been successfully traded for years in various overseas markets–leaving you, the individual and professional investor, to play catch-up. Single Stock Futures: An Investor’s Guide will quickly bring you up to speed on this unique investment vehicle and show you how to get the most out of it.

As one of the first professional investors to launch a single stock futures fund, author Kennedy Mitchell has both the knowledge and experience to introduce you to single stock futures, explain how they function, and demonstrate the various ways they can be traded. Single Stock Futures: An Investor’s Guide clearly illustrates how investors–both individual and professional–can utilize single stock futures independently or as an application to add new dimensions to an investment portfolio.

After providing a general understanding of single stock futures, this comprehensive guide gets down to the specifics with discussions of:

  • The exchanges for single stock futures–OneChicago, NQLX, ISLAND, and AMEX
  • Speculating and hedging with single stock futures
  • The tax considerations of using single stock futures
  • The analysis of single stock futures–technical analysis, fundamental analysis, a combination of both
  • Proven trading strategies–from outright purchases to buy-write and pairs trading
  • Arbitrage principals, margins, and much more

Filled with expert insight, detailed charts, and real-world examples that bring each point to life, Single Stock Futures: An Investor’s Guide skillfully reveals how you can profit from the unprecedented combination of accessibility and leverage found in single stock futures.
