Synopsis

At the head of the family, the aging Bradshaw parents continue their marital dynamic of bickering and petty undermining. "The Bradshaw Variations" is a powerful novel about how our choices and our loves and the family life we build will always be an echo - a variation - of a theme played out in our own childhood. The novel, Cusk's sixth , shows a prize-winning writer at the height of her powers.

Biographie de l'auteur

Rachel Cusk was born in 1967 and is the author of six previous novels, including Saving Agnes, which won the Whitbread First Novel Award, The Country Life, which won a Somerset Maugham Award and Arlington Park, which was shortlisted for the 2007 Orange Broadband Prize for Fiction. In 2003 she was chosen as one of Granta's Best of Young Novelists. She lives in Brighton.
