Originally published two years previously in the US. Hard Cover. Crown 4to 10"x7½" [25.4cm x 19cm] approx. 32 pp. Matt pictorial boards with matching pictorial dust wrapper unclipped at £1.25. The jacket is rubbed at the spine ends and has a closed invisible tear to the front wrap but presents well in mylar. Book has only a hint of wear and is near fine. A clean text block which is beautifully illustrated in colour by Ralph Pinto. The author retells six tales from American black folk literature: "Why the Waves Have Whitecaps, " "Mr. Rabbit and Mr. Bear, " "Why Dogs Hate Cats, " "The Farmer and the Snake, " "What is Trouble?" and "The Knee-High Man."
