Biographie de l'auteur :
Lucy is a breast cancer survivor who had been misdiagnosed for 15 months. Her knowledge of breast cancer and the different types were unbeknown to her. After speaking with many other women, she found out she wasn't the only one who didn't know much about breast cancer. She started doing a workshop in high schools in her city to educate young teen girls about the importance of breast health. She teaches them about the different types of breast cancer, what signs to look for, knowing their family medical history and talking about facts vs myths. Her mantra has been Knowledge is Power! Lucy's goal is to empower all young girls to be their own health advocate, but she is only one person. She wrote this book in hopes it will reach all young girls and women throughout the world to help eradicate this horrible disease. Early detection is the key to survival. Lucy lives in San Diego County with her two dogs, Nacho and Velvet. She paddles on an all women cancer survivor dragonboat team, competing throughout California and Arizona. This is her first publication. Update: Fifteen years later, Lucy is still thriving as a survivor of breast cancer. Completing her Bachelors degree in Creative Writing and English, she graduated Cumma Sum Laude in May, 2017. During the last few years since first publishing this book, she has moved to another state and has married, inheriting 5 more children and a slew of grandchildren. Lucy is currently working on several other writing projects: The Purple Lily - co-author (thriller); Broken Promises (women's fiction set in Alaska); Sober Love (women's fiction).
