Description du livre Hardcover. Etat : Good. Natti, Susanna (illustrateur). Product Description Ronald, worried about losing his best friend, thinks his birthday is going to come too late for a class party, but he may be in for a surprise. From School Library Journal Grade 1-3 Ronald Morgan, hero of three other Giff titles, has a new dilemma. It is the end of the school year, and Ronald's birthday comes one day too late to be celebrated at school. On top of that he unintentionally insults his best friend, Michael, and the boys stop speaking to each other. The last morning of school Ronald walks into the classroom to a surprise birthday party complete with his most wanted gifta puppyand the rift between the boys is mended. The illustrations are bright and colorful with a touch of humor. They are somewhat reminiscent of Lillian Hoban's, as Natti, too, uses sharp black outlines and presents a multi-ethnic classroom. Giff has a way of recognizing the problems and worries that beset primary grade children. Ronald's problems are simple and rather self-centered, but children will easily identify with them. This title would be popular in the easy reading sections of both school and public libraries. Similar types of stories are Miriam Cohen's Will I Have a Friend? (Macmillan, 1967) and So What? (Greenwillow, 1982). Elaine Lesh Morgan, Multnomah County Library, Portland, Oreg.Copyright 1987 Reed Business Information, Inc. N° de réf. du vendeur SONG0670807419
