Synopsis
On the death of her mother, Louise returns to her home-town on the outskirts of Manchester. Her mother's only bequest is a photograph album in which Louise finds the face of another woman - strangely like her own - which seems to have been excised from the family tree. Louise's quest to learn about her great-aunt becomes a gripping investigation into the lost past, a mission to learn about her family's dark secret and a journey towards accepting her own present. INHERITANCE is an absorbing, memory-drenched and often blackly comic novel.

À propos de l?auteur
Livi Michael has three previously published novels: UNDER A THIN MOON, which won the Arthur Welton Prize; THEIR ANGEL REACH which won the Geoffrey Faber Memorial Prize and a Society of Authors Award; and ALL THE DARK AIR, which also received an award from the Society of Authors. INHERITANCE is her first novel on the Viking list. She lives in Lancashire with her partner and two sons.
