Présentation de l'éditeur :
'Most Irish families are the descendants of Kings. Most Irish families have no particular proof of this, but it is nonetheless so ... No one is just what they seem.' So begins a comical and idiosyncratic odyssey to unravel fact from fiction in a well-spun family tale. On her travels Annie Caulfield finds the real, bittersweet Australia in a series of bizarre encounters with larger than life characters. Not always pretty, but full of dayglo local colour, the individuals she meets give a startling 3D snapshot of modern Australia, and shed light on a past full of contradictions and complexities. Wry, funny, touching, and sometimes tragic, Annie Caulfield's quest to find her Irish connection to Australia uncovers much more than she bargained for.
Biographie de l'auteur :
Annie Caulfield has written and broadcast for BBC travel programmes and her travel writing also appears in the INDEPENDENT. She works regularly as a scriptwriter for Lenny Henry and her first book, KINGDOM OF THE FILM STARS, published in 1997, was pronounced 'worth missing FRIENDS for' by MADEMOISELLE magazine.
