Quotes for the hardback:
'Outstanding moving, vivid and haunting, even in the annals of Holocaust literature' Rabbi Lionel Blue
'Out of a disaster with too few miracles comes a miracle of unrequited love that would have challenged Shakespeare. TO SEE YOU AGAIN is a powerful memoir of tragedy, love and - in the end - familial responsibility, which proves once again that the Holocaust had no happy endings'
Alan Dershowitz
'Set in a period of unspeakable horror, TO SEE YOU AGAIN is a memoir of the human heart. It is a drama of the highest order as well as an important document of twentieth century history'
Faye Kellerman, author of JUPITER'S BONES
'Betty Schimmel has given us a great gift, a powerful and heartbreaking memoir. A fifteen-year-old girl in war-torn Europe, she had the courage to fall in love. The lives of all readers will be enriched when they take Betty's hand and make the journey through this tragedy and triumph and celebration of life'
Alicia Appleman-Jurman, author of ALICIA: MY STORY
'A fascinating journey into love, war and betrayal'
Catherine Coulter, author of THE EDGE
'This is disturbing, inspirational and a shocking lesson in human nature - from both a positive and unspeakably evil perspective'
HEAT magazine
'The Betty Schimmel story is not just another gripping account of the victory of the human spirit over Nazi bestiality although that alone would make it compulsive reading. It is also the most moving true life love story one could wish to read'
JEWISH TELEGRAPH
'TO SEE YOU AGAIN is a wrenching true story of love during the unspeakable horror of the Holocaust. It touches many emotions on many levels and opens a window into the heart of the human spirit'
Linda Howard, author of NOW YOU SEE HER
'Betty's story is a story of deep and tenacious love; both her love for the 16 year old Richie and the devotion of her husband are testament to how love doesn't give up.'
CAPE ARGUS
'A compelling story and a valuable historical document of the evil that was the Holocaust... TO SEE YOU AGAIN is a wonderful book. A triumph of the human spirit against evil. Betty Schimmel is one of those who prove that human love, faith and courage can triumph over unspeakable horror.'
CAPE TIMES
This is the story of Betty Schimmel and the two loves of her life. The first is her childhood sweetheart from Hungary, Richie. During the Nazi occupation they would meet after curfew and talk of a love that would outlive the privation they endured in the ghetto. But the lovers were separated when Betty and her family were forced on a death march to the notorious concentration camp at Mauthausen. After liberation, Betty spent desperate months searching for her beloved Richie until, after much grieving, she gave him up for dead and married Otto, a fellow death camp survivor - but she never forgot her first love. Three decades later they are reunited by chance in Budapest, a city inevitably charged with the unfulfilled dreams of their youth. Now a wife and mother, Betty's past is something she can only reawaken at a price.
