Stewart Moskowitz has been widening the spectrum of pop art for forty years, beginning with the whimsical and carefree animal characters that appeared on posters, books, lunch boxes, toys, and an animated movie. The American Rabbit, Too-Loose the Chocolate Moose, and many other characters, began as large paintings on canvas. As his technical skills constantly improve, Stewart's work continues to evolve. In his studio in Humboldt county, California, he continues exploring the possibilities of airbrushed acrylic on large canvases, with a constantly expanding array of subjects and statements, and with many adaptations planned for books and other projects.
