Présentation de l'éditeur :
On a whim - the best journeys begin like that...
Since beginning her travels, Mary Russell has been anywhere - and everywhere. From Lesotho to Sudan, the West Bank to the Sahara, Donegal to Russia, the Caribbean to South Africa, from Bosnia to the Arctic to Syria and home. Wherever that is.
In Mary Russell's inspiring travelogue, home is wherever her toothbrush is. With an outsider's eye for new peoples and cultures, she reflects inspiringly on the need for new horizons that lies at the restless heart of every traveller. Set against the backdrop of her own personal journey through the joys and sorrows of married life, through an illicit love affair, the death of her partner and the birth of a granddaughter, JOURNEYS OF A LIFETIME illustrates that often the most dramatic journeys are the silent ones within.
Biographie de l'auteur :
Mary Russell took her first solo journey in her mid-forties, to Lesotho in southern Africa, spurred into action by the threat of illness. She is a travel writer for THE IRISH TIMES and has previously been published in AMAZONIAN, a collection of travel writing by women.
