The Reverend Lee is suffering from a rare and acutely embarrassing condition: Back-to-Front Dyslexia. It affects only his speech, and he doesn’t realize he’s doing it, but the parishioners of Nibbleswicke are shocked and confused by seemingly outrageous comments.
At last a cure is found and the mild-mannered vicar can resume normal service. Or at least as normal as is possible for a man who must walk backwards to be sure of taking forwards!

Robert Lee had suffered from severe dyslexia as a boy and had successfully overcome his problems with the help of the Dyslexia Institute. Later in life, soon after arriving at Nibbleswicke, he suddenly developed a particular and unusual sort of dyslexia. Roald Dahl describes the awkwardness of the Vicar's situation on many occasions and explains the simple cure. the dustjacket has a 1 inch tear at the top left of the rear panel, and there are marks as if the book had been used as a backrest for some paper writing impressed into the rear panel of the dustjacket . no other damage to describe.
