Soft cover. Etat : Good. No Jacket. Gerald Witcomb and Fran Humphris (illustrateur). ### The Ladybird Book Series: Man On The Sea by James Webster 1974 ## ## THIS BOOK: Classified as VERY GOOD: This is the 1974 edition. The cover is in good condition, and the spine and the book corners have minimal bumping. Some pages show signs of use. However, none are torn. The images in this book are excellent ## IMAGES: We provide at least two images of each book so you know what you are buying. READ ON for more information.## ## The Ladybird Books we have all grown up with, and I know that these marvellous books are still popular books read by thousands of children worldwide. But they are becoming rarer.## ~##~ PLEASE NOTE: Dates in Ladybird Book can be deceiving; FIRST EDITION will be printed, in general, on the heel of the free endpaper opposite the title page. Also, ISBN Numbers didn't start until 1967, and Decimalisation was on February 15 1971. If you need more information, use 'Contact the Seller'; we will do our best to answer your inquiry. Dates can be, Numerals or Roman Numeral. ## ### Here are the Ladybird Books we have all grown up with and some new ones. Thousands of children the world over still enjoy these marvellous books. Whoever is buying these books knows what they are like; the question is always - What condition is the book in, does it have a dust jacket, and what year was it published - If a First Edition, it doesn't mean it's worth a fortune, it the rareness of any book that puts the high-end prices on. I have noticed that the insides of the books stay pretty well OK, some scribbling, but in general, the dust jacket and the hardcovers take the wear. ### ~#~ YOU MAY FIND THIS INTERESTING: The company originated in 1867 when Henry Wills opened a bookshop in Loughborough, Leicestershire. He progressed to printing and publishing guidebooks and street directories within a decade. William Hepworth joined him in 1904, and the company traded as Wills & Hepworth. ## By August 1914, Wills & Hepworth had published their first children's books under the Ladybird imprint. Initially, the company was identified by a Ladybird logo with open wings but eventually changed to the more familiar closed-wing Ladybird in the late 1950s. The ladybird logo has since undergone several redesigns, the latest of which launched in 2006. ## #### INTERNATIONAL BUYERS: Please Note. FREE SHIPPING IS UK ONLY.
