It looks at whether there can be a balance between people's needs and the well-being of the forests themselves. This book talks about the causes of the destruction of rainforest and also at the positive projects that are already happening to conserve the rainforest. It is also looks at the future of the forests.
Opposing viewpoints are given throughout to provide opportunities for discussion and debate.
Biographie de l'auteur
Ewan Mcleish is a writer and lecturer on science and environmental issues, and former Director of the Council for Environmental Education. He has recently worked with teachers in the Cameroon, West Africa, developing education materials about the environment, including rainforests. He writes on a wide range of topics including science, geography and the environment.
The consultant, Dr Yolanda Foote, is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the School of Chemistry, Physics and Environmental Science, at the University of Sussex.
