His work first appeared in Cycle World magazine in 1977, and he has been a regular fixture there ever since. Peter lives near Madison, Wisconsin with his wife, Barb, a houseful of dogs and cats, and a garage filled with motorcycles, cars, and the sound set for his garage blues band.Peter Vincent discovered photography by purchasing a Popular Photography Annual in the mid-1960s that included Adams, Weston, White, Steiglitz, Strand, and many more. He knew at that moment that he would do photographic work professionally, and he went on to take workshops with Ansel Adams, Brett Weston, Morley Baer and others. But Vincent also grew up as a gearhead, buying his first car at 15 and learning how to fix, customize, and personalize automobiles. His love for visual work, minimalism, and transportation has found its way into Motorbooks titles Hot Rod Garages (2009) and Dream Garages (2006).
