As hate crimes and violence continue to hurt the innocent, our society has looked little beyond retribution and punishment for the perpetrators. This book breaks new ground by looking at the ways in which educators and school boards can work to develop transformational agency for those students most at risk. By developing alternative schools that foster strong relationships through supportive communities, disaffected youth can find hope and trust within themselves as they continue their educational and social development. À propos de l?auteur
The Author: Greg S. Goodman works as a school psychologist in Clovis, California, and he teaches in the Graduate School of Counseling and Special Education at California State University, Fresno. He received his doctorate from the University of California's Joint Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership. His most recent works include Alternatives in Education (Peter Lang, 1999) and A Walker's Companion, a trail guide to the Central Sierra.
