This film tells the story of the life of Therese Martin using old documents, interviews, and reconstructed extracts from her life. It covers Alencon (her birthplace), les Buissonnets (Lisieux) and the Carmel, which she entered at the age of fifteen. The doors of the Carmel open exceptionally through the kindness of the sisters in Lisieux, and we can follow Therese in the chapel, the cloister, the garden and her cell. In June 1897 she was removed to the infirmary of the convent where she died on September 30. She was beatified by Pope Pius XI in 1923 -- he canonized her in 1925. In 1927 she was named the heavenly patroness of all foreign missions, and of all works for Russia.
