Following his formal education, Michael worked first as a systems analyst, then progressed through project management, and corporate planning, eventually to become a marketing consultant to the insurance industry. Packed it all in in 2001 to train for the career he had always wanted to follow - writing. Michael is married, and has two children from his first marriage.
