Meredith Belbin has achieved the status of a management guru for this theory of Team Roles. Throughout his work with teams, he has undertaken extensive research into the success of teams, as well as spending decades placing high-level managers within some of the world's largest organisations. At Belbin Associates, he has assembled his own perfect team, and it is this team as a whole which has combined to write The Belbin Guide to Succeeding at Work.Review :
This is an insightful and useful addition to the Belbin library, easy to read and practical to use. This book will appeal to both the experienced practitioner and individuals learning about Meredith Belbin's work for the first time. There are some real gems in the book, particularly the sections on how to handle difficult people and assessing organisational culture. I also liked to the Dos and Don'ts for each Team Role, very helpful for a Resource Investigator facilitator! This is a must read for all, providing a good foundation for understanding team dynamics and how managers can use Team Role theory to enhance the effectiveness of both individuals and teams in the workplace. Belbin's work continues to evolve. It has stood the test of time and I believe it has even more relevance in today's modern workplace than ever before. --Elwyn Thomas, Arup Associate Director
