Biographie de l'auteur

Paul Philippou is a teacher and historian living in Perth. He has worked at Dundee and Stirling Universities and for The Open University. This is his second book; his first, Spanish Thermopylae: Cypriot Volunteers in the Spanish Civil War, 1936-39, was published in March 2009 by Warren & Pell.

Rob Hands is a geography teacher living near Perth. He has also written and illustrated International Issues in the 1990s - Chambers Social Studies Series (1991)
and the Success Guide to Intermediate 2 Geography - Leckie and Leckie (2009). He produces landscape graphics and diagrams to aid landscape and historical interpretation. He has made numerous visits to Scottish, UK, European and US battlefields to investigate the geographical elements involved in a range of battles.
