Présentation de l'éditeur :

Reviewers say: "I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough,"..."Two thumbs up"..."Highly recommended,".."a Five-Star rating,"..."The author did a wonderful job on weaving history and fact together to make a fast paced and gripping book,"..."Author E. G. Lewis has a wonderful skill with his writing, hiding deep and serious research under simple, honest story-telling." Witness: An old tale told in a new way. Things are good for young Rivkah. Her father's just given her a lamb to start her own flock, and Shemu'el wants to marry her. The young shepherdess accompanies her father to Bethlehem where, with Mary’s help, she holds her newborn son. But Mary, Joseph and Jesus are soon gone and Herod’s soldiers begin killing the children of her village. Then her intended, Shemu’el, is dragged away into slavery. Divided by fate, united by love, these two young people grow to separate adulthoods, each with their dreams and desires unfulfilled, while the world of Rome and conquest moves inexorably on. Rivkah eventually marries and raises a family. Life is good until the day she's in Jerusalem for the Passover when three men pass on their way to crucifixion. As she encounters Jesus a final time, Rivkah makes a life-changing decision and follows to Golgotha. And, when they take him from the cross, this time it’s Rivkah who helps Mary hold her son. An epic tale of love lost and love found. Biblically and historically accurate.

Description du livre Cape Arago Press. Paperback. État : New. Paperback. 312 pages. Reviewers say: This is a love story, and a good oneTheres a beautiful innocence to Rivkah and her thoughts, and the author has a gentle way with words The writing is incredible You will rejoice and cry at various timesthis is a novel that transports you to a different time and place E. G. Lewis did a marvelous job worthy of so much more than a 5 star rating. Fast paced and grippingthe author did a wonderful job on weaving history into fiction. WITNESS An old tale told in a new way!The events Rivkah witnessed changed history. As a young shepherd girl, she accompanied her father to a Bethlehem stable where she held the baby Jesus. She watched Mary and Joseph flee to Egypt, met the strange visitors from the East whod followed a star to Bethlehem, and saw Herods soldiers kill the children of her village. You can experience life in Roman Judea as the Jewish people struggle under the burden of Caesars armies and Herods cruelty. Watch false Messiahs rise and fall and see the fatal retribution that followed. Feel the pain of the innocent bystanders left to pick up the pieces of their shattered lives. Meet Shemuel, the young man Rivkah believed God destined for her. But Rome tore them apart. Divided by fate, united by love, these two young people grow to separate adulthood, each with their dreams and desires unfulfilled, while the world of Rome and conquest moves inexorably on. Then, many years later, Rivkah finds herself in Jerusalem during the Passover. Trapped in a crowd, she is forced to watch three men being led to their execution. Her stomach drops when she realizes one of the men is Yeshua, the babe she held so many years before. Witness it all through the eyes of one who lived it. This item ships from multiple locations.
