Biographie de l'auteur :
Dr. Kevin D. Barnes, Sr. was born and raised in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. He is married to the lovely Brenda Barnes and is the father of three sons: Kevin Jr., Keith, and Kenneth Barnes. In July 1986, Pastor Barnes received his license to preach and delivered his first sermon at his home church, White Oak Grove in Oakland, CA. Pastor Barnes attended the Bay Cities Bible Institute and the Sacramento Theological Seminary Bible College, and was later ordained a minister of the Gospel. He was elected pastor of the Abyssinian Missionary Baptist Church in Oakland, CA in January 1992. Since being elected Pastor, his primary focus has been winning souls and encouraging the people of God. Brenda Barnes, the first lady of Abyssinian Baptist Church, is a virtuous woman of God who loves God’s people with all her heart. Brenda Barnes is not a typical first lady, who is an out-front kind of person. However, it is in her heart to diligently work behind the scenes, praying with and for the church so that it can make a difference in the many lives God has allowed her and her husband to serve. God provided her with the insight of her calling early on in her Christian journey, which is to pray, encourage, serve and seek to do God’s will.
Présentation de l'éditeur :
While sitting at a local coffee shop in our city, I began thinking about how grateful I am to have been blessed with the family that God has given me. While my wife, Brenda, and I were raising our three sons, Kevin Jr., Keith and Kenneth, we never did think we would have the blessing of seeing our grandchildren. After all, my youngest son, Kenneth, just recently graduated from high school. We thought that after our three boys were grown, we would be finished with raising or helping to raise children. However we quickly discovered that after you have raised your children, you must also help to successfully raise your grandchildren. Many of the same principles in good parenting apply to good grandparenting, and this book will help you work out the differences, and successfully raise your grandchildren for God's glory. --Kevin D. Barnes, Sr. and Brenda Barnes
