Each Sunday, author Debra Des Vignes visited the prisoners at Plainfield Correctional Facility and wrote stories. Initially, the prisoners were hesitant to open up, but together, that year, a goodness was sown. Des Vignes wrote this book to remember what was shared. She witnessed deep, inner personal growth during the time spent inside the medium-security prison on Sundays. Chris, an offender in the creative writing class, best described it as “Sunday Sweet Sunday,” which ultimately became the title of the chapbook.
