The plan of this book is to present a series of mental exercises adapted to classes in Grammar Schools aud A cademies. It embraces all the more important principles of business arithmetic, without being encumbered with operations in counting the fingers, or with unwieldy combinations of numbers. The problems cover a wide field of subjects and principles, both practical and scientific.
