It is only necessary to say that the longer one labors in practical mechanics, the more mature is his mind and judgment and the better qualified he is to carry on his vork. This book is written especially forM echanics who wish to prepare themselves in procuring Government, State or City I icense as anE ngineer. Hoping the practical suggestions throughout the book will enable those who look and follow them up to gain a better insight of the work they have to perform, I remain.
