Make it known A pril 9, 1914 I believe in San Francisco CREED REGIONAL BANK SECRETARIES McADOO and HOUSTON said: The presentation of facts by the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce before the Regional Bank Committee was the most concise and convincing argument we received on our trip. There was no oratory, no attempt to introduce extraneous matter; just a plain, direct statement, showing the citys wonderful resources. There is no gainsaying San Francisco sclaim of financial supremacy on the Pacific Coast. THE secret is out. The something which Secretary Mc Adoo was bustin to tell us came over the wire from Washington last Friday and it was to the effect that San Francisco had been awarded the Regional Reserve Bank for the Pacific Coast District. This award means a recognition of San Francisco sclaim to the industrial, commercial and financial supremacy of the Pacific Coast. Incidentally it was a pat on the back for the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, for the award was larg-ely made on the showing made by this organization. Secretaries Mc Adoo and Houston have declared that of all the exhibits offered by the various commercial organizations that of the San Francisco Chamber was the most complete and convincing. With the award have come some very interesting comparative figures which should be borne in mind by all who are proud of our citys progress. The Regional Bank hearing revealed that the San Francisco district will represent 514 National banks with a capital of $8,115,524. Of the twelve cities awarded a reserve bank this city ranks sixth, being exceeded in capital only by New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Cleveland, and Boston in the order named. The San Francisco district is the Jargest of the twelve, embracing 603,558 square miles, with a population of 5,389,303. The district includes
