This book is a treatise on the concept of a 'Social and Rational Association of the Universal Brothers of Humanity,' proposed by the author as a remedy for the social ills of the mid-19th century. The author asserts that contemporary issues of poverty and revolution stem from the alienation of the people from the land, and the absence of legal and social equality. He posits a universal association of laborers as the only entity capable of establishing a social order based on rationally incontestable justice and equality. He engages with the current intellectual and social landscape, addressing objections that might be raised by journalists, politicians, religious figures, intellectuals, economists, socialists, and landowners. Notably, he also contends that the association would eventually be supported by scientists and philosophers once they realize that the materialism that underpins their disciplines is inherently anarchic. Ultimately, the book argues that the Rational Association is an imperative for social survival. By establishing a society founded on equality and justice, the association would eradicate poverty and revolution and usher in an era of peace and prosperity.
