Présentation de l'éditeur :
The materials for discussion have been drawn principally from the results of experimental psychology and pedagogy. Theoretical considerations in the fields of psychology and biology have also been made use of from time to time. For aid in the preparation of this manuscript, by means of helpful suggestions, I have to thank particularly my colleagues, Professor W. C. Bagley and Professor B. H. Bode, and for material assistance in the revision of proof, my colleague, Dr. A. H. Sutherland. My thanks are also due toP rofessor E. B. Titchener, of Cornell University, for a detailed statement of certain aspects of his doctrine of attention, particularly in relation to his distinction between attributive and cognitive clearness.
