Charlotte Voake is a highly acclaimed author and illustrator of books for children, including GINGER, for which she won the 1997 Smarties Book Prize Gold Award. She illustrated ELSIE PIDDOCK SKIPS IN HER SLEEP by Eleanor Farjeon and has been short-listed four times for the prestigious Kurt Maschler Award in Britain. Of her inspiration for GINGER FINDS A HOME, she says, "We had a cat who lived at the
bottom of our garden, and it was a great moment when he decided to come and live with us."
