Présentation de l'éditeur :
Paris residents Lisa Davidson and Liz Ayre share their inside knowledge of the City of Lights in National Geographic Traveler: Paris. All the fabled sights are here—the Eiffel Tower, the Notre-Dame, the Louvre—with detailed background information on each place and how best to visit (purchase the museum pass, for instance, for the best price into museums). You will also discover a plethora of lesser known sights like the great Parisian parks, the Fountains, and the ultra chic Avenue Montaigne. Mapped walking tours of the Old Marais, the Grands Boulevards, and Montparnasse are included.
Two-page write-ups treat particular subjects in depth and focus on aspects of Paris such as the city's fascinating cemeteries and the role of great Parisian love affairs within French society. Additionally, experiential suggestions are provided to help the user decide between boating the Seine or taking an art class. The guide also provides beautiful three-dimensional artworks that depict the architectural details of the Louvre, Notre-Dame Cathedral, and Versailles. As in all of the Traveler guides, a meticulous history and culture chapter fills you in on the city's background and the Travelwise section provides all the information you need for traveling to and around Paris, as well as the author's pick of the best hotels and restaurants in a variety of price ranges.
