Piano Tuning The Integration and Equation of Aural and Electronic Tuning Techniques. Rick Baldassin, received his degrees in Music Performance and Piano Technology from Brigham Young University. Trained as an aural tuner, he soon became involved with the science and advancement of electronic tuning aids. During the writing of the "On Pitch" series, Rick received a Presidential Citation from the Piano Technicians Guild for his work on the Examinations and Tests Standards Committee responsible for the current version of the tuning exam. He later became the Tuning Editor of the Piano Technicians Journal. Rick is a Registered Piano Technician, was awarded the Member of Note, and has been inducted into the Piano Technicians Guild Hall of Fame. Rick has been a highly sought-after tuning and technical instructor both nationally and internationally since 1983. He is an international consultant for several major piano manufacturers.
