A single mother and her young son find true happiness when she meets the 'man of her dreams' and sets out to make a new home in a Dallas suburb. The young boy is overjoyed to finally have a real dad when his life is shattered by his mother's murder. The police quickly determine that the husband murdered his wife and arrest him. What follows is a twisted tale of missed opportunities, broken lives, tortuous histories and the wheels of justice taking strange turns. This compelling story takes the reader through the many faceted lives of each character before culminating in the trial and the ironies of the judicial system.
