Présentation de l'éditeur :
As the first in a series, "The Shadow of Chea'Laern" sets the foundation for a trilogy. Technically considered Fantasy/Adventure, these books are inspired by Buddhist/Shamanistic teachings of energy, chakkras, and meditation. The story begins one hundred years after a slain wizard vanishes from a protected forest. Since then, the region has known relative peace; a combined rule between a kingdom in the south called Chea'Laern, and a sanctuary of knowledge in the northwest called the Hosttowers of Nimbdell. Secile Shuriek decides to not begin her graduation quest--a prerequisite to earning the title "Ascni'Chii"--until she retrieves her friend's abandoned daughter from an eastern valley in which she does not belong. Secile learns that the girl, Kaia-mei, might play a leading role in Nimbdell's future, but can they all look forward while swept up in the maelstrom of Secile's quest? Can Secile even guarantee Kaia-mei a future in Nimbdell when she might be outmatched herself?
