Présentation de l'éditeur :
The Manifesto is a uniquely candid description of what it is like to work on Capitol Hill as a congressional staffer. Beginning with a briefing of logistics and expectations for Capitol Hill interns and new staffers, author Cathy Travis – a 25 year veteran of Capitol Hill – offers a concise overview of how Capitol Hill offices do their daily work. The second part of the book is an in-depth look at expectations and insights into the individual staff jobs in a congressional office. Offering best practices for congressional offices, Travis gives advice to the chief of staff, and then lays out expectations for legislative, communications, and administrative operations. This is simply the most honest account of what is expected of team members in a Capitol Hill office, and the enormous challenges of their workday.
