La Morris Richmond first broke onto the comics scene with the “Real Ghostbusters” published by NOW Comics in 1988. From there he went on to create horror stories for Northstar’s Splatter, including “12 Gauge Solution” and the controversial slasher comic book “Boots Of The Oppressor.” La Morris spent the next several years working as City Editor and columnist at The Chicago Daily Defender newspaper before returning to his first love in life — comics. After a brief stint as interim Editor-In-Chief of Griot Enterprises he founded B.L.A.M. Comics! self-publishing the Kung Fu comedy “Canton Kid,” and the blood and guts Western “Purge: Black, Red & Deadly.” La Morris was Editor-In-Chief at Hallboy Comics where he was the writer of the title “Oya.” Excited by his return to Griot Enterprises La Morris shares the vision of G.E’s founder Jiba Molei Anderson in creating a thriving intellectual property company for the 21st century and beyond.
He rose up against those who oppressed his people. Using an image meant to denigrate a race, he united a people and created a mighty nation. Now, he must rise again to save the nation he created from the corruption within. The controversial mini-series is now at Griot Enterprises. JBD is a pulp hero for a new millenium... Give the Devil his due!
