Michael-Renee Godfrey is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Marietta, GA where she is the co-founder of Perfect Peace Counseling Center and the founder of PowerPlay Performance, LLC. She is a Registered Nurse with a BS in Nursing from Georgia State University, a BA in Psychology from the University of Georgia, and an MA in Psychology from the State University of West Georgia. Currently, Michael-Renee is a Doctoral Candidate, scheduled to receive her PsyD in Sport & Performance Psychology from the University of the Rockies in 2015. Michael-Renee grew up in a high-achieving, yet emotionally dysfunctional family where an unreachable bar of perfection was set at a very young age. Goals and achievements were discussed while feelings were not. Anger was never allowed. Michael-Renee survived mental, emotional, and sexual trauma throughout her life; but has healed those wounds by doing the work on herself in therapy. Today, she has not only found the courage to tell her story but has opened her life up to anyone who may have a similar background and is ready to be whole. Towards this end, Michael-Renee has written a groundbreaking book about her experiences entitled SOUL GRAFFITI...What if Your Mother — or Father — Was Wrong?
