Glenn David Dumbrell was born in the working class Sydney suburb of Balmain. He didn’t hang around for long, moving to the Bayside suburb of Bonbeach on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria before his first birthday. Glenn likes to travel and has spent time in every State of Australia. He is no stranger to South-East Asia and has eagerly taken his place in cooking classes in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Glenn also travelled to Indonesia on the one occasion. He was soon to realise that a country, that boasts a national dish consisting of a bowl of shitty Fried Rice with a fried egg on top definitely isn’t the place for him. Glenn has spent time as a garbo, barman, drug manufacturer and even managed to have a couple of fights in the ring. For the most part of his working life, he’s been a butcher and loved every minute of it. Although considering himself a funny prick, this is Glenn’s first foray into writing. He probably wouldn’t have even bothered had his idol Robert G Barrett not tragically passed away. Glenn has three grown children, four and a half grandchildren, and refuses to be drawn into any conversation about his age other than to state that he started really young. Glenn now resides in Mordialloc with two Greek Goddesses. He is still a butcher and spends his spare time trying to track down the perfect coffee and perfect pizza. Recently he’s discovered Five Senses, the Dark Horse blend, coconut sugar and Jonesy’s milk. With these goodies in hand and a recently purchased professional coffee machine from Italy, Glenn’s soul mate Maria has the coffee covered. However, the search for the perfect pizza is still a work in progress... but he has a few leads.
