Viorica Culea: adopted from Braila, Romania in 1995. Unfortunately she was adopted by an abusive alcoholic; and her adoptive father never protected her from her mother’s drunken rage. She went through years of verbal and some physical abuse by her adoptive parents, but was strong enough to get away from the toxic situation. She always had a curiosity to find her natural mother, back in Romania, but her adoptive parents discouraged it and made attempts to prevent her from finding her truth. It took her 5 years to find her family, but with “scary tenacity”, she did it! Her journey is full of unexpected twists and turns, but she learns that everything happens for a reason. Most importantly she learned to: Never Give Up!

Biographie de l'auteur :

Viorica Culea was born in Braila, Romania and adopted by an American family. She grew up in Shelby Township, Michigan. She advocates for the reopening of Romanian adoption and runs groups for Romanian adoptees on Facebook. She has been in a Romanian news documentary called "Generatia Pierduta [Generation Lost]" and on a Romanian talk show called "La Maruta". She has also been in multiple news articles. You can also find her on YouTube; just look up "Viorica Culea. On my channel I share short videos sharing my experiences with adoption.
