Solveig Larsson was born and raised in Luleå, a city on the coast of northern Sweden. She was a school teacher for 40 years; after retiring, she has spent her time reading and knitting. Solveig has been knitting mittens for years, constantly inspired by the traditional hand-knit patterns of Northern Sweden.
