For a generation of modern quilters, sewing is a way to reconnect with the joy of crafting, and stitchers are eagerly searching for projects that fit today's DIY lifestyle. Fresh Quilting presents 21 projects that are fun, contemporary, and functional, with the author's signature use of bold color and unexpected palettes. The project mix includes six modern quilts that range from baby- or wall-size to bed-size beauties; pillows; scarves; bags; coasters and a needle case that are perfect for gifting; and a truly adorable fabric baby alphabet book that can also unfold into a crib bumper. In addition to clear directions and step-by-step illustrations for machine-sewn patchwork and quilted projects, Fresh Quilting includes a detailed section of techniques from basic piecing, cutting, and measuring methods to more advanced techniques like inserting zippers into pillow backs and using bias binding to finish a quilt. Throughout the book, Malka guides the readers to adventurously and confidently mix colors and prints. With Fresh Quilting, readers will be inspired to recreate Dubrawsky's irresistible projects as well as create their own designs. Crafters with a modern sense of style and a love of textiles and color will find new inspiration and ideas in Fresh Quilting. Bridging sewing, patchwork, and quilting, sewists will want to branch out into the quilt projects, while quilters will find that their skills translate easily to the book's home decor, gifts, and accessories. Dubrawsky's designs sing with brilliant color, and this book will provide inspiration for sewists of all kinds for years to come.Biographie de l'auteur :
