Présentation de l'éditeur :
Armchair Fiction presents extra large editions of classic science fiction double novels. Edmond Hamilton’s “The Time-Raider” is the first novel. Hamilton was one of the greatest storytellers in the history of science fiction. He and E. E. “Doc” Smith and his old pal Jack Williamson were essentially the fathers of modern space opera. There is an element of tragedy and romance in this grand tale. It all begins with a bizarre phenomenon that takes place in many of the world’s largest cities—a phenomenon that is characterized with a sudden and almost total loss of sound. Thousands of helpless citizens mill about in a state of unchecked panic, unable to hear anything other than a slight fluttering noise—barely distinguishable. It was a sound not unlike the fleeting call of a low whisper. A whisper of death...
