Revue de presse :
As many people dislike the sweetness that icing adds to cakes, one trend for the wedding cakes recently has been for naked cakes, where the layers of the cake are left bare at the sides. This book gives recipes for a variety of different cakes, ranging from the traditional (chocolate, vanilla and carrot) to the slightly more unusual (lychee, cardamom and lemonade). There are also recipes and ideas for other stacked cakes, including crepes, meringues and even a cheese wheel cake. There are step-by-step instructions, showing how to layer and stack the cakes, and a wide variety of recipes for different fillings and toppings. In addition to cake-decorating there are suggestions for setting the scene with tissue - and crepe - paper decorations to brighten up any event --Woman's Weekly, October 2015 issue
A visually stunning book, you can tell that Lyndel is a stylist as well as a cook! On top of the instructions for making specific naked cakes, this book is a creative resource. It has sections on cake recipes, fillings and glaze recipes and finishing decorations so you can mix and match to develop your own cakes and designs. There is also a photo guide for stacking cakes, an introduction to edible flowers and even a section on handmade decorations to complement your cake. We love 'This goes with that' section, an A-Z flavours that work well together an inspired idea. --Cake Masters, October issue

Présentation de l'éditeur :
Fondant haters, lazy bakers and time-poor hosts rejoice! These naked cakes are achievable, budget friendly and swoon worthy--and they provide an ideal opportunity to experiment with and display your individual creativity. Beautiful, rustic and organic in form, naked cakes are always tiered, with filling and frosting between layers but never on the outside--thus 'naked'. Within these pages you will find information on choosing a style of cake; how to make sweet fillings, butters and frostings as well as syrups; recipes for over a dozen base cakes including gluten-free and flourless options; a definitive listing of flavour profiles and combinations; beautiful cake toppers; and over a dozen assembled cakes for different occasions. Author, stylist and cook Lyndel Miller, also explains how to decorate your cakes with edible fresh and sugared flowers and fruits. Beautifully styled inspiration spreads show you how to set the scene for special occasions such as a baby shower, a simple eco wedding, a Mexican- inspired fiesta and a 'dessert party' using handmade decorations such as garlands and bunting. All with stunning naked cakes as the centrepiece, of course!
