About the Author :

Emily was raised in the Tarheel State and can still sometimes be found around Chapel Hill (though lately she's been bopping between New Mexico, Singapore and Sydney, Australia). Though she doesn't have an accent, her Southern nature manifests in an unlimited tolerance for pork and biscuits. She writes about travel, food and culture for a number of magazines, and has contributed to several other Lonely Planet guides, including the previous edition of USA and The Carolinas, Georgia & the South Trips.
